Starting Salary In 1979 Same As Now?

Came across and old Okanagan Heli Employees handbook in the hanger here. Starting salary for a new Pilot is 1293 a month..... about 3 dollars more then it is now...hahaha. Wow. :shock: That is sad.

That's the big problem with this industry...

Started in the late 80's with a company that was paying me $1600 a month, 17 years later my much younger cousin started flying with the same company, same base, same job........yep, $1600 a month was his starting salary.

my first job: $1500 per month layed off over winter

 

i came back the next summer, went full time: $2500.00 + $35 per hour
