Winnie 94
That reminded me what one of my instructors in California said in groundschool, (he served in the Israeli army at one point) (Imagine heavy South African accent): "I have seen the colour of fear, and it is BROWN!!" Don't think I would want to replicate that one though

Helilog56 222
 Holy Sh*t is an understatement.....if you listen carefully, it sounds as though a blade (or both) struck something (tailboom?). It is kind of funny clip, but also scary at the same time.....could have been a much worse outcome....

twinstar_ca 181
is that the R44 equivalent of mast bumping, skidz?? regardless of what you call it, it can't be good... anything rotating and hitting something of any stationary solidity has to have experienced some torsional stress... i hope they got that thing down and fast.... Skidz 275
Yup. Mast bumping. That would be the cause of the second nose forward, on the rebound. Our CP (who has over a thousand hours on the critter) says the guy made the right decision in pulling pitch. Had he dumped the pole he would've cut his tailboom right off. He should however not have attempted translation but rather set it down and shut down immediately...
collective 0
Looked at that video a few times now. Only thing I can suggest is, he/she was over gross. In a 44..thats not a good thing (in any ship, but 44's..well) Notice the toes are low and when he/she does touch down, the ship is not level. Looks over gross with an inadvertent stuffing forward of the cyclic due to loss of aft cyclic travel. (*just a thought ...cant say I blame the pilot for that..but..thats something every pilot should be aware of). I any case...wild stuff! the nose hits the ground....phew...wild stuff
