School Advice Needed

confederation college in thunder bay offers the AME program. while he's applying he might want to apply to the fixed wing flight program offered there as well.... the CF used to offer an aviation college entry program, but i'm not sure if it is still active....

His application to RMC will be his application to the forces as a pilot. Part of staring RMC is being accepted into the CF as an officer cadet in a specific trade (such as pilot).

 

A different option would be for him to pursue an engineering or science degree at a civilian university, and then apply as a pilot after completing it.

 

The problem with that is that RMC is the CF's "preferred" source for new officers, meaning that they may or may not be accepting folks that did their degrees in other places when he's ready to apply.

 

Of course, if he goes off and spends $50K getting a four year degree in order to get flying, he might as well just do his CPL right off the bat...
