I just saw the prelim on the NTSB web site , they classified it as an in flight break up.

would anyone know the serial number for this airframe?

I was working in the general area at the time of the crash and I know what was passed-on to me about the supposed cause of the accident. I'll refrain from further comment about what was said until I see confirmation. I will add only that IF what I understood is proven, numerous AWD's and possible groundings of type worldwide will probably take place. Too very bad because MD has been taking a beating for a while now company-wise, although I understand that they may be getting back on "an even keel" real soon, if not already. They make a good "bird' and always have.

 

I ask only one things for those guys..........let the cause be proven DEFINITELY and for them not to be left will some "cloud" hanging over their heads about their actions/inactions. I'd want the same for mysellf and the rest of my peers.
