Jim, Iran's 214's were built in Isfahan. Bell had built an assembly line there. During the 1979 revolution, the Iranians 'nationalized' the plant. Which is a fancy way of saying they stole it.

The manufacturing of components and materials may have been in Texas, but the assembly was in Iran, which is why they won't be recognized. Theft of intellectual property and all.
