Batfink
"'EI benefits would be better spent funding courses that train people for jobs that are in high demand. " Goldmember, Well said, but haven't you heard - There's a pilot shortage... (Alot of dry humour and irony intended)
GoldMember
Good one Batfink, what we should really do is demand that EI fund 1,000 hours of flight training for anyone that wants to be a pilot so that freshly minted drivers could fill the experienced pilot shortage. (Also much humor intended.)
Skidz
I agree with you on the EI issue GM. However, I would hazard a guess that flight training back when you did your's was somewhat less expensive than it is now. I can't see many kids these days being able to afford it without some serious help from their folks...
GoldMember
I paid about $24,000.00 for my private, commercial, multi-IFR fixed wing and about $18,000.00 for my rotary conversion. This is year 13 for me as a paid driver, I'm not that old. Although, after our X-mas parties I feel about 95.
