Airport study takes aim at geese

Seeks to reduce risk to planes Activists oppose killing birds

The federal government has set its sights on reducing the exploding Canada goose population around the GTA''s airports.

With more than 95 collisions between birds and airplanes in the Greater Toronto Area last year, the transport department has hired an Ottawa firm to look at ways to reduce the risk of an accident at Pearson, City Centre, Buttonville and Oshawa airports.
