helimat
no no.. we were talking about how crappy BCIT was, weren't we?? I'm sorta new though As for rcketchik, I joke about BCIT, but it is a fine school, and a lot of the engineers I know went there. If you are planning on going the helicopter route, NLC is probably more geared that way, but whatever tech school you chose will only provide the education you take from it. In the end, 90% of your education will be in the field, and you will find that the school will provide just enough of the basics to set up your new career. So enjoy your time there as well as the nice weather! (I can tell you that I was wishing I was in Vancouver during the Dawson Creek winters!) I just did two endorsement courses in a row... that's a cold walk in the morning with the wind and minus 25 for most of the time I was there. And for the record I went to bcit and I turned out just fine.... all that matters is your attitude. Just stay away from that certain helicopter instructor.... he likes to chew people out for no reason.
ray
That 'certain helicopter instructor' is a pretty nice guy once you get to know him and earn his respect. I've worked with him in the bush before he got this teaching gig, and he is pretty darn good at it.
rcketchik
Well first week in has been great. Started in on our cable clamps (oh the joys of filing) , I love our instuctor (MacFarlane), and everyone in the class seems pretty chill! There were two exams that were pretty easy, and one for tools on monday!
