Guest graunch1
Don't try this in your Robbie! There is an equally impressive BO105 video from the early 80s showing a military one flying nap of the earth down a very well treed creek. Haven't seen it on th einternet so it might have not made it this far. MBB had it at the time we were getting a BO 105 in Calgary for offshore work in the Beaufort

L'ACADIAN
Hey , There should be some good scenes of the Bo 105 in the movie coming out this friday called "shooter" or should I say ,I hope that they were not left on the cutting room floor....I was lucky enough to be in the left seat for some of the scenes as an extra when they were filming in Ashcroft (in BC for those of you who are not familiar) last summer. Let me tell you all, it was amazing, as a low timer to be able to experience this. I think this is one of those once in a life time things. Anyways, I will for sure be one of those going to see this movie ! Salut !!
4961.5
The best 105 footage was with the MBB test pilot that I saw years ago, in it the guy is doing multiple everything at low level! It makes you sick just watching it, see if you can find that one. It's early 90's footage or even late 80's, but the beset stickjiggler you've seen. Freefall
One of the comments on that youtube video mentioned the bo105 was originally meant to be aerobatic. Is that true?? I didn't realist there were any helicopters built to allow aerobatics aside from military helicopters.
Mark_
I don't think that it was designed to be aerobatic...that was just one of the benefits of fully rigid head.
4961.5
Isn't the 105 a military helicopter, like most.
Fenestron
i don't think anyone has purpose built a specific aerobatic helicopter per se, but it's always a by-product of building a helicopter for the military. what better way to show off the prowress and capabilities than to show it pulling off some wild (read into that "evasive") manouvers. The military just loves aircraft that can out turn, out accelerate, out perform anything anyone else currently has.

The military just loves aircraft that can out turn, out accelerate, out perform anything anyone else currently has. The first real heli war propelled both man and machine into hellish situations they weren't made for, with dire results more often than not. Warfare technology today demands a/c that can outthink, outwit, outlast (sorry...tad bit Survivor-ish ) and outmaneuver the opponent/enemy, both offensively and defensively. That is to say, it ain't all for show nor to cower behind evasivity. Cripes...I know better than this. Just tired 2¢. No pouncing, eh? I think someone else posted an image of Danny Glover somewhere around here from the same film shoot. Anyhoo, lucky you, L'Acadian! It's something you'll never forget!
