T-Rex your post is one of the best comments I've seen in this forum, the quote "There is life after CHL" exactly the contrary of what the company tryes to makes us believe..........

The 2007 payscale just let us confirm what the company think about us......

but. whats anyone going to do about the payscale. i don't see a made rush for the door. every hanger i drop in and say hi to the guys to are full of engineers/apprentices. So, unless you do something. they think they are doing good things. There are companies out there needing good guys. lots of them. Unless you all leave at once, there is nothing but whine here. There are a lot of guys with lots of years in with this company. you saying everyone is dumb. something keeps them there.

that is absolutly true. its all comfort. Truth is, I did my own compare of many companies. and unless you are getting a real special deal and they say, don't tell anyone. they are all about the same. some use flight pay, some signout pay, some have fleet pay.

If you do 30 days out and the a/c does 100 hours. they are all pretty close. the only way you make a bit more is taking care of multiple a/c. that will give you more hours or more signouts.

Yes i see Highland had a big pay increase. That now puts them in the upper middle of the group.

So now you have to think of where in canada you want to work. If you go north, more pay. stay closer to home, less pay.

If you are working with nice a/c, good people, and have some respect. and the pay is about the same everywhere. then comfort is nice

I heard the highland helicopter raise was appprox 30,000 $ per year , any truth to this and was it only for remote locations where no body wants to be (like maybe red earth)where it was nice today ,but had a shower about 3 pm today , or so i heard

Yes, you can easily make +100K/yr, if you don't mind a northern permanent base job.

I know they have raised their rates, sign out pay has gone up a fair bit. I spoke to their DOM a little while ago, straight up guy, if I wasn't commited where I am now I would not hesitate to sign on. They are hurting like the rest of the companies out there, but they seem like a good group.

It averages out to about a $10 000/year raise. For all AME's. A couple of the busier places will have more.

That raise was pretty decent. 1200$ per inspection sign out and $500 at the base salary. So a guy with 5 years licensed would get $5500/month + $1200 X12 + AFB and other crap = a guy should be able to top 80K without any problem and like you said a little more for the guys with more inspections than 12 during the year. Highland is a pretty decent place to work...I quit right before the raises.
