Regional Air Support? Where'd They Go?

Recommended Posts

 Some time ago there was a huge bruhaha and press release about the Ontario Regional Air Support Program. At that time they were close to ordering up a couple of 120's

Anybody hear what they're up to? Now that Toronto is not getting their Million$ grant/gift/whatever maybe they'll be the flavour of the month again?

The guy in charge had some pretty grand ideas!! No licence or experience, just ideas.

No chopper for coppers

Toronto — The Toronto Police Service will not get an extra $1 million to buy a helicopter, Ontario's minister of community safety confirmed Wednesday.

The money had been promised in last March's final budget from the Tory administration of then-premier Ernie Eves.

However, the pledge for helicopter cash now appears to have died with the Conservative government's defeat by the Liberals on Oct. 2.

Monte Kwinter said there wouldn't be any extra money earmarked for a chopper, and that force will have to decide whether it can afford to buy one with existing funding.

... i can't believe they didn't grab the $$ and run way back in march!!!
