porter
Where would be a good place to go (or who should I contact) for an IFR rating? Ideally, it would be a quick course with the helicopter part on a cheaper machine (cheaper than a B206). Accommodations would also be a plus. Thanks a lot. volition
What part of the country are you in?? In the West I would go with Pro, they use an Cessna 172, then the last 7 hours or so on an R22 IFR trainer.
porter
I’m in the GTA Yes that would be something I’m looking for, 20 simulator, 15 airplane, and then 5 + test ride on a R22, S300CB. Sorry I’m not familiar with all the schools, especially out west. “Pro” would be The Professional Flight Centre?
Ryan
Bingo. I did my IFR at Pro IFR just as you stated.... 20 sim, 15 C172 and the rest in the heli. Banged it all off in a little over a month. http://www.proifr.com
Winnie
I did mine at Silverline at Holland landing on a S300C. 200 schools where you can do the airplane portion at before. (A "slight" exageration I guess...) Cheers H.
Tonio
I’m in the GTA Yes that would be something I’m looking for, 20 simulator, 15 airplane, and then 5 + test ride on a R22, S300CB. I don't know about the fixedwing flight schools as there are many of them in TO but for the R22 you could check with Canadian Helicopters in Buttonville: http://www.canadianhelicopters.ca/frame/content/toronto.html ;-)
porter
Thanks all, Silverline was my first option but they don’t have an instructor for the next 2 months. Canadian Helicopters at Buttonville don’t do IFR. Still looking.......
ABQ Approach
National Helicopters just north of Toronto can do it but only have 206 IFR trainers...
