mixmaster
Hi guys, flying south of the border and by bud is in a 206L4. He is easily over 6'6" and knees and head are hitting everything!! He wants to take out the Bell steel frame seat and just put a foam sheet on the seat pan. I have said I dont think thats a great idea as you would bend the seat pan. Any ideas from anyone about this??? any help I could get to the tall guy would be great. Thanks in advance for all the replys. Mixmaster

I'm sure the Type Certificate was approved with that frame installed not to mention that the seat "pan" itself doesn't seem like it has much crashworthiness attached to it's design. You'd need an STC or LSTC and I doubt one exists for this purpose.>>I've been wrong before though.
Reddog
Also you will negate any insurance coverage for injury to your buddy, leaving you holding the bag. The obvious answer is to get a real helicopter with room for normal sized people, of course.

Guest graunch1
Probably easier and quicker to remove 6" of leg bone than anything else

HillerWhat
Hey there, I dont know if this has ever been discussed but Aeronautical Accessories has an STC for a bulged skylight in L-R models. I am sure it would help a bit in your friends situation. H.W.
Groundresonance
I actually did that and sat on a stack of rags for the afternoon. My teeth were chattering from the vibrations I was getting through the airframe. It became a choice between crooked back or rattling teeth. I alternated between the seat and the stack of rags for awhile before giving up and just living with the seat.
