Helmets

In what is probably one of the most heavily regulated industry in the world, I find it strange that there are no regulations around the worthiness of a flight helmet. I searched TC's site high and low and found nothing on standards or requirements for helmets - just cursory notes that it's good to wear one. My motorcycle helmet has to meet TC standards (and optionally, SNELL as well) where as a flight helmets do not.

Anyone know why?

I think there are detailed military specifications (mil spec) applying to flight helmets, so civilian authorities have not felt the need. The major helmets brands are used by militaries around the world so you can rely on that.
