Norm
I was looking online for an inflatable life vest that would also allow me to store my GPS and other small items while in flight. Comfort is also a big concern as my current inflatable vest is a rigid material and uncomfortable to wear in the helicopter. I found a nomex vest online that looks to be the perfect item. But I am unsure who makes it and if it would be available to purchase in Canada. If anyone could share some insight into this vest I would appreciate it. I have included a photo for reference. Skidz
Mustang have a whole line of aircrew vests. Some are pricey though, as high as 1200 bucks !
tDawe
I was looking at a selection of mustangs in a marine supply store the other day and noticed that about half the models are designed to self-inflate when submerged in water, that would be an unpleasant surprise as one was trying to escape from his/her submerged machine. Norm
I have been able to find some more information on the vest I posted a photo of above. As this model of vest is the one I am most interested in. It is made by Stearns. Although I can not find it listed on Stearns website. It is carried by many marine and aviation supply stores in the United States. Most suppliers list it in the approx. $200.00 range. I am trying to find a company that carries Stearns merchandise here in Canada. I would like to avoid the high custom fees if purchased in the States. As for the Mustang line of vests anything that I have found is very expensive. So I am not really interested in these products. sharkbait
Norm: does that vest have a solid fabric back or mesh? Just thinking of operations in the tropics. Cheers Sharkbait
