mp-willow
R22 is that as S-55 or S58 I ask about the water ops to be able to land on water that may not have the beach available. If that is the case can normal skids be in the water for any length of time?

ISE DA BY
R22: This has got to be a picture from the Polar Continental Shelf or the Mid-Canada Line?? With that antenna and supply of drums, it was way north!!!! Right or wrong? Don  Fox E is located on Durban Island about 250 miles NE of Iqaluit. R22Captain
Ise Da By would be correct. For the record it's not my pic....jeez I wasn't even born when that was taken. It's off of a Dew Line historical page.
Helilog56
For those interested, a Sikorsky 58T looks like this. (one of my favorite aircraft).
sirlandsalot
58 T, does that mean it was coverted to a turbine from a 58? What is it you like so much of that AC? I saw it in Squamish BC once moving hydro poles
Elvis
Yes the 58T is a converted S58 piston to the P&W PT6 twin Pac

mp-willow
Jay Flight> Thanks for that pic. Is it an older MD-500? That is just the setting I would love to be in now, instead of waiting for this next snow storm. The S058T, is nice, interesting lines, and you can do a lot with it, but her upkeep must be more. I do like the older birds
Mark_
H56...that 58T is a gorgeous looking rig...is Tundra using that for pulling timber?
