mtnhopper
Could any of you guys or gals that drive 500s tell me how the litter kits work. Pardon my ignorance but I have not spent any time around them thanks. MH

nakhigh
It's about 20 years since i last put a patient in a 500 but we had Ambulance doors for the back with Bubble windows the frame that held the strecher fastened to the forward baulkhead in the back and had legs that went into the floor. The strecher slid into the frame lateraly so the patients head and feet were sticking out in the bubble windows. I do belive Heli-logistics in Langley developed a fore and aft kit like a 206 where you revoved the door post.

Skidz
...so the patients head and feet were sticking out in the bubble windows... Wonder how many patients puked their guts out from travelling whilst lying down with their head sticking out the bubble... How 'bout heat stroke in the summer ? Most patients aren't very comfy flying feet first, imagine sideways... What a show that must be !!!
twinstar_ca
that configuration was also very popular with tv shows like 240 robert.. was never intended as a long range transport option for med cases... merely as a short term delivery... MikeNowak
I prefer the "shove em in and off we go" approach. Plenty of room and loads of fresh air for the poor laddy.
