tDawe
After reading the write up in the Aviation Safety Letter I was wondering if anyone on here working for ORGNE/CHL might be able to clear something up for me. The write up refers to a recommended approach angle of 8 degrees, based on both the SOPs and Ops Manual. The report also says that the aircraft was on the proper approach angle as it passed through 500'agl and 0.5 NM from the helipad. I'm curious how the pilots know they're on this angle? Is it a function of the EGPWS? or is it just RadAlt/GPS distance to run?
