Jet B
Do you have the FRAHM installed or not? If not that could be part of the problem as well. I'm not actually sure if the Frahm is installed. I know the head china hat is on there, I will ask about the damper too. I literally have only 3 weeks experience flying that little Ferarri, so I actually had to google Frahm to see what you were talking about. DGP
If you have the chinese hat on you also have the frahm installed....can 't have one without the other...if frahm is off you won't have the hat....can't see that it would be a hanger bearing or you would have the vibration all the time... Skidbiter
QUOTE (Jet B @ Mar 16 2008, 09:08 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not actually sure if the Frahm is installed. I literally have only 3 weeks experience flying that little Ferarri, so I actually had to google Frahm to see what you were talking about. If the china hat is still there, the frahm is still on there, it's the contraption with springs in it under the china hat, it can be removed to save a few pounds (like 50lb or so) similar to the astar vibe absorber on top of its head. Let us know what you end up finding, its always good to have that knowledge stored away some where in the grey matter. Cheers SB Oooop's I was too slow typing. Well the vibe felt like that rpm, and when the bearing was changed, it seems to have gone, but who knows, was just an idea, it was a strange one for sure, you would think it would be there the whole time? Bizzo
Try selling the 407 and replacing it with an A-Star, see if that solves your vibration problem!!
hired-gun12
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to make this a 407 vs 350 thread. There are a lot of good ideas, keep 'em coming. I am thinking along the lines of worn out corner mounts on the transmission.
vortex
We've had cracked springs in the FRAHM give vibes before but if I remember it seemed different than what you describe, but those springs can effect vibe levels.
Jet B
I will get them to check the Frahm springs too. As to the Astar thing... We want to solve the problem, not trade it for different problems. LOL Seriously, I did like Astars when I used to drive them but so far I'm pretty impressed with the 407. It's like driving a Ferrari, and it starts itself... What's not to like.
3BX2
BIZZO, Why don't you go and do something useful...like drop the belly pan and tune your Hammers?

He is not available for a response as he is currently out moving drill with a B3. They start themselves too.
