I'm just wapping some work up in Penticton then I'm on a road trip next week with 2 checkrides and a pile of interviews setup.

Cheers!

Good luck, Cole!

Xlogger as far as training goes you are probably 1/3 of the way there over young pilots. 22 years of running equipment is a huge plus as you should have mastered the hands feet coordination that flying a helicopter takes. Being 38 may also be a plus as most clients do not like looking at pilots that look as if they are not old enough to shave. This automaticaly brings up the question to the young guys from clients how many hrs do you have. You will find at 38 not many people will ask you this. There is no doubt the word on the street is Great slave runs as good of school as any if not the best.

My only suggestions and questions to you would be.

Do you really want this as it is 60 g minimum on a career change.

Are you prepared to spend all your summers away from home April to October

How do you feel about being away from your young one and wife for 6 to 8 weeks minimum at a time

Do you like camping 6 to 8 weeks at a time

Are you finacialy prepared for the wage cut for the next 3 to 5 years

The first year pushing a broom will be less then 30g

You will be lucky to see more then 40g until after you exceed 1000 hrs

Are you truly truly ready to push a broom and shine windows at 38

I hope some of this helps Good Luck

Sorry i should have made my self clearer. As a low timer you will spend your summers away from home. I only know of 1 or 2 companies that dont expect low timers to go away for a minimum of 6 weeks and then you get maybe a week off.

To the best of my knowledge you can probably count on 1 hand companies that give a 2 week rotation. This would be an intresting pole as to what rotations are offered by what companies.

My R-44 drivers do a rotation of 21 on 7 off. All low time pilots get flying the first year.

I to believe the days are gone of 2-3 months away from home, people are not doing the job as they should because they get bushed, whether it is a ground or air positon.
