I just read this ad in the Alaska Highway News classifieds:

 

Commercial helicopter pilot training. 2 yr commitment only $5000.00. Accomodations included. Limited enrollment. call (250) 888-7200

Most likely one of those "cruise line" employment companies. All promises.

 

Search on Yahoo brings up quite a few different listings they have had:

All the links though are dead, so maybe it is helicopter training month for them

why put out an ad like that with the number of low timers out there looking.

I believe the answer is within your question. People who call are probably asked to pay for some sort of an "information kit". Now of course I could be wrong and I found the wrong company, but the phone number matches.
