100 Years Of Canadian Aviation History

Recommended Posts

Today Canada Celebrates 100 years of Canadian Aviation History.

The flight of the Silver Dart!

I think in a certain way, we owe our livings to those that took that risk, stepped away from the norm and made history. Imagining that these type of folk that paved the way to making history and the critisism and doubt that the faced to creating our future is really awe inspiring, many critisized Bell througout his life some even called him a crazy lunatic. It takes a special group of people that will act in the face of adversity and forge ahead. This is how progess is made and history moves forward.

We should all feel very proud of the accomplishments of our Canadian ancestors on this historic day. :)

Important to note that it was in Canada that Alexander Graham Bell emigrated to from Scotland. Vedette Nova Scotia!

The CBC has a really great coverage of the re-inactment of the flight of the Silver Dart!

Of course 75 years or so later somebody else figured out how to spin the thing around!
