I read on the AS350AD on the news page that the manufacturer of the mod kit is supplying parts needed at no cost. How common is this , at the last place I worked I recall customers were sometimes a little peed off at having to pay for mod kits to fix design problems. Do OEM's and engine manufacturers provide mod kits required to correct AD's at zero cost in most instances ?.

In most cases yes, the mod kits are free. We have been supplying the correct Geneva parts since the day their bulletin came out. As per usual, It took the Americans 12 months to figure this out. Normally, from past experience, they take 18-24 months to issue an AD that was originally issued by the Type Certificate holder. They were flyin on this one!
