sharkbait
I am having a problem with my Bose X. I get "popping" and then lose the audio - I can still transmit however. It usualy comes back after 10 or 15 secs or if you turn off the ANR. Changed batteries a couple of times - no joy there. Downloaded the manual and read through that. Poked and prodded to make sure the little holes ( TriPort openings) in the earcups are clear ect. Checked the Optional Operation Switches. Tried varying the volumn both on the headset and the audio panel. All looks OK but the problem persists. Someone told me to send it back to Bose as they have a "fix". The headset was built in Oct 2004. Does anyone else have the same problem? (S-76 and S-92) Before I open fire in Bose's direction does anyone have some good advice? Thanks for any help or suggestions.
Skidz
Sounds like one of your components is overheating and tripping a protection circuit. This usually means that one of your components is getting too much voltage, which probably means another component is shorted or open. Pretty sure it'll have to go to the shop. Aero Teknic in CYHU are a Bose dealer/service shop. The good news is your headset hasn't caught on fire...yet... Call Pascal. He'll know what to do. http://www.aeroteknic.com/
sharkbait
Thanks Skidz: I'll call soon after I get home on the 8th. Sounds like a road trip to St. Hubert from Hudson will be in order. Perhaps I'll hijack Biggles to navigate. Maybe we can get toigether for a "coffee" while there Skidz. Cheers Sharkbait.

Even with the windows open the ANR will sometimes start popping and make them unusable. Anyhow, they have a pretty good warranty! WW

WW Off Shore Oil, Worldywings; I noticed that if hovering in the 76 with the pilot's window open that a turn to crosswind would cause the Bose to "POP". The 92 has a pretty noisy cockpit but with the Airconditioning on we do not use the window for much aside from passing manifests to the ground crew. I never got a chance to fly the 212 using the Bose - we flew the 212 with the windows open most of the time. I had the earphone bracket break on my Bose and the good folks at Kitchener Areo fixed it very quickly.

sharkbait
Well Skidz - Thank you for your help - the boys in St. Hubert suggested I send my Bose X to Tel Air Electronic in Quebec City. Seems they are the "go to guys" here in QC for Bose. A quick, pleasant and helpfull phone call and I shipped it off to them. They did a great job, replaced a whole bunch of stuff on both hi and lo microphones and the headset itself and got it back to me in one week - all at No Charge for parts, labour and return shipping . My thanks to them. I would recommend them to anyone. www.telaireletronique.com 416-871-0686 They are located at the Quebec City airport. Always nice to be able to recommend someone.
