500 O/r Clutch Splines

500 O/R Clutch lower splines, who uses what out there? whats the best in that high heat area, everything seems to either run off, or cake on solid i have found. Ive seen plastilube, M-28, anti seize, 355, and even nothing on em!!

moly#3 plastilube, pull it every 100 relube it

we use 28,I've heard of sundstrand on them though

I've tried just about everything, none are great. book calls for mobil28 but it runs off. Sunstrand seems to be the best, but in the end I don't think it matters as long as you pull it every hundred and re-lube it. And if you've got a bad PTO seal make sure you change it or at least suck the oil out of the bottom of the housing. I've seen the housing so full it washed everything off the splines.

The specified lubricant works best

Pull the clutch every 100 hrs

PTO seals, well if they leak you got a wet spline now.

 

500's love hate relationship

The 206 seal on a 500 would surely get them cranked too.
