206 Mtnce Course

Been trying to book a Bell 206 field maintenance type course for this winter but there's none to be had. Dawson Creek is full and B.C.I.T. is on strike. I'm thinkin Bell in Fort Worth but it's three times the price, not including travel or the exchange rate!!!

I had always wondered about these courses. Does a person have to be an AME/apprentice to go? Can pilots join in the learning too? I'd love to attend one if possible one day.

I could be wrong, but most courses of that nature require some maintenance background, or you just end up holding the rest of class back.

Although I suspect a lot of wrenches out there would consider a pilot with just a little too much knowledge just a little too dangerous...

Northern Light Course offers a pilot maintenance course. Gives a guy the basics.

Yes all of the airframe seats are full for NLC's but as of Monday they had 2 engine seats for the Feb course and 5 for the may course.

BCIT is in the habit of cancelling courses.
