Turbomeca Cycle Couting

Recommended Posts

Best method is to read the friggin books. Have seen one cycle counter that works perfect and that is the robin's aerospace cycle counting remote gauge. Canadian had them installed and unless you are an AZZ and undue the canon plug it counts cycles and exceedances,,,plus hey you can look at it when doing vertical reference and actually see what Q and Ng are doing. Hmmm.

Hello All,

My name is Jonathan Gunn and I own AKV, Inc.

Pilots all know how difficult to impossible manual cycle counting is and every pilot whishes he/she didn't have to deal with it. The AKV Cycle Counter is available for the Arriel 1, LTS101, T53 and Makila 1 engine and is a viable and affordable option for all operators. While there are other systems available albeit very few, the big benefit with our Arriel 1 counter is that it is Turbomeca Validated (yep, that's a big deal). It also includes the latest change to the Np partial count which the VEMD is currently unable to comply with in the B2. It is truly the most user friendly system available. The optional programming kit allows the counter to be reset with the current counts from your engine log books so engine or module swaps are not an issue.

Also, check out our ETM1000 - Exceedence & Trend Monitoring system. It has built in side tone so for you vertical reference guys you know where you are in the power. A ton of additional features built-in and to much to ramble on about....!

For more information check out www.akvinc.com. Couple of flyers attached for the AS350.

Happy flying :-)

Ive used both AKV and HPMS systems nothing complicated about them. Push the button write the #s down. Idiot proof way better than the stupid formulas. Ive also worked for a company that installed them and took them out again and is now in the process of installing them again. Not sure the idea behind that but guess thats why Im not in management. Only problems with most counters Ive seen especially the HPMS one is where they want it mounted. Clearly designed by someone who don't have to use it every day. But I see some companies are moving them to the instrument panel or over head where they should be anyway.
