If anyone will be in the Niagara Area on October 20th (rain date October 27th) we are hosting our First annual Open House/Static Fly In. All proceeds are going to the Canadian Cancer Society. We have various machines (possibly more) from various agencies attending, as well various emergency services will be on display as well. The event will be at Niagara Helicopters Ltd. Check out the poster for more details and directions.

FIRST-EVER COPTERS FOR CANCER TO BENEFIT

THE CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY

 

(Niagara Falls, ON) Niagara Helicopters Limited is winding up and getting set to host the first-ever 'Copters for Cancer' - Emergency Mission Phase 1, slated to take place October 20th. The event will showcase the emergency helicopter sector, as well as Police, Fire and Ambulance services, with all proceeds benefiting the Niagara branch of the Canadian Cancer Society.

 

"Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada and we are proud to support such a worthy cause," said Rene Huessy, Operations Manager, Pilot/Engineer, Niagara Helicopters Ltd. "We encourage everyone from the Niagara area to join us on the 20th and see first-hand the world class emergency services that continue to protect and serve our citizens on a daily basis," he added.

 

Confirmed for the event so far are the US Coast Guard which will be flying in their HH65 Dolphin, the Ontario Provincial Police Aviation Unit, Four Seasons Aviation with their Bell 427 and Twinstar,and the Erie Sherriff Department arriving in their A-Star 350. Niagara Helicopters will also have their helicopters on display, and each participating helicopter and emergency vehicle displayed on-site will feature a 'meet and greet' with the pilot and/or emergency personnel to learn more about their sector and equipment. Also, on display will be the Niagara Parks Police H.A.R.T. and the Niagara Falls Fire Department. Chief Wendy Southall of the Niagara Regional Police will lead a special emergency sector panel discussion at 11:00 a.m. Additional details will be announced in the coming weeks including other helicopter participants.

 

The event is set to take place on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Niagara Helicopters Ltd., 3731 Victoria Avenue, Niagara Falls, ON, located at the corner of Victoria Ave and the Niagara Parkway. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. and the event will run until 4:00 p.m. Entry fee for adults is $5.00 with all proceeds benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society, and children 12 and under are free. In case of inclement weather, a rain date has been set for October 27th.
