Fred Lewis
Attached are two communications from TC officials proving that TC pays attention to the concerns of the solitary, ordinary person. The submissions that lead to these communications are quite long but if anyone wants to read them, I will make them available. The issue of the FDT regulations has yet to be settled. The proposed changes to the regulations will be published in the Canada Gazette Part I and the public will have the opportunity to comment. Every pilot who has an interest in seeing the FDT regs revised is urged to write to as many influential individuals as possible. These include the Ministers of Labour and Transport, the opposition critics of these two departments, local MP's and the Director General of TC. All indications are that your concerns will be given careful consideration. FDT&Wghts.pdf
vortex
Its been my experience that in 2006 and 2007 when your responses were received, TC was quite a different organization than what it is in 2015.

I would agree. Also Merlin Preuss is long ago retired I believe.
Grasshopper
Quite right, gentlemen, and Merlin's replacement is certainly no equal, in any way but title, on top of which, he's supposed to be retiring this fall, so is hardly likely to have any vested interest in the industry's welfare.
Freewheel
Although Mr. Preuss has also been accused of not wanting to hear the truth:http://www.canada.com/story.html?id=0f629f19-fbe0-46b4-9dfa-c386f21acb91
