Forest Fire hours.

I did not fly this year but,

Just out of curiosity did many pilots fighting the fires this year get over 300 flight hours (not including unused minimums) or was the Forestry services only flying you up to the 4 hours a day or less but hold you for the 14 hours all summer?

How about in BC? Our machines weren't banging out snowmen the whole time but they had a few good runs.

In BC:

I think our mediums did really well. The Astars got split between IA and Admin and/or bucket support so were a bit more hit & miss. Personally, on the Astars, I flew around 250hrs since June I think? About 50 of those with a bucket. Only a few snowmen.

311 hours in a 212 on fires for me, worked 75 days including travel over 4 tours. Was a good summer.

What would an average year, or expected year, for days worked and hours paid in the forestry side of the industry be? Lights and mediums.
