BTW, there is a Walmart every block down here...

I'd heard that Walmart had to shut down some 150 stores during Katrina and Rita; well, duh!!! That's what happens when you build 'em every couple hundred feet! Glad Rita wasn't as bad as predicted once she came ashore, but still lots to repair again. Arrrrrr. Be safe!

Sorry dude but NO.

 

We are not flying on the relief / clean up effort. Strictly SAR for the offshore operators.

 

But we are right in the heart of "central command" for both Rita and Katrina.

 

We are currently based out of Lafayette, and it is amazing the number of aircraft on the ramp here. Everything from R44 right up to and including a 53E. And I do mean evrything.

 

If ya'll like I can certainly entertain with plain old heli shots from the area>

This was impressive, man could I throw a screw into that formation. I can usually throw a wrench into a single ship formation

Pretty quiet down here now, one little Tropical Storm circulating down in the bottom of the Gulf but otherwise.....ZZZZZZ. CNN actually had other relevant world news on today for a second.
