Discovery Air / Vih

Recommended Posts

Well, that sounds like economies of scale at work, better insurance rates, and the ability to streamline to the most cost effective end. It is after all about money. I know one thing for sure when there is a public announcement and they re afirm that

"VIH has an excellent reputation in the helicopter industry which is in large part due to its dedicated long-standing employees who will continue to be a valuable asset to VIH and the Discovery Air team going forward."

Guarenteed that they will thining things out a little in the management end, pilots are safe as well as engineers as the shortage will persist some time into the future.

I guess will have to wait and see who becomes redundant.

How do they compare in size to the Canadain VFR end?

If the deal goes through...cudos to the Norie family, Barry H., Charlie, Russ and the whole group.

Not too sure about Discovery...only buying 4 aircraft out of 129 that would be certified part 27 or 29.

Hopefully a new Discovery /VIH will increase domestic rates rather than continue the self shanking that too many operators continue to perform.
