Wow. That is all very big news in your industry, to say the least. I have been watching your responses to the news simply out of curiosity. It is just what I expected to see...a bit all over the map, with a few knee-jerk and gut reactions (totally normal, btw). And having been through a corporate buyout recently, and experiencing all of the emotion and the fallout that tend to go along with it, I can offer up the following first-hand, nickels-worth advice if you’ve never been through one before. I realize this was unsolicited, but take it for what you will.

-Change is scary but sometimes change is good.

-Don’t waste time speculating on “the fallout” or waiting for the proverbial “other shoe to drop.” It can suck the life out of you.

-Go about your daily business as the professionals you are. Easing back into your routines and returning to normalcy as quickly as possible will help you keep your wits about you.

-It’s not uncommon to feel anxious, nervous, hypersensitive…even grief and/or betrayal of some kind. After all, what you’re doing and whom you’re doing it with now is like “second family.” Different people experience it differently and you all have to work together to respect and respond to those differences.

-It’s okay to contemplate the “what ifs,” but only in a productive manner that will focus on your future long-term career moves.

-Embrace change with flexibility, even if it pains you dearly. It could help with job security if it gets to that point.

-Just breathe.

Much luck and continued success to everyone this involves and effects. :)

i hope thats not something you'd expect them to divulge at that time.....

This is one of those things that nobody can change, deals done....the only thing to do is adapt to the new direction....

I'm personally curious to know if the divisions of Discovery will remain their separate entities, or will they all merge under one colour, one name at some point. will it become a giant conglomerate with a corporate logo? (please choose a decent logo, unlike some of late  )
