Turbomeca Cycle Couting

The new "airbus" product come with a VEMD and do it all for us.

 

Yeah, sure, but if you're flying an "older" Airbus product with the old VEMD software, then you get that SB that states the VEMD doesn't count cycles accurately and therefore you have to count them manually anyways...

 

I remember a few years ago, when I was working for a company out east (who shall remain nameless), the owner, who doesn't hold much respect for pilots in general, felt that we were all exaggerating our air time and cycle counts, so he had cycle counters installed in all of his Astars. After a year, he realized the opposite was true and had them all disabled...

 

I think this illustrates the true "accuracy" of cycle counting on Turbo Meca engines.
