Turbomeca Cycle Couting

I am looking for the right formula to count cycles on an Arriel 1B engine.

The most accurate way to count cycles is to look back through the logbook and and find an entry that has a similar flight time and landings and copy those NG and FT numbers. LOL

Unless that entry is incorrect. Then you are perpetuating inaccurate numbers

Yeah I was joking. I edited my post for clarity. In reality I think if they want us to count NG and FT cycles then they should come with cycle counters from the factory. Those cycle counting charts that turbomecca put out are not super straight forward.

Yeah, sure, but if you're flying an "older" Airbus product with the old VEMD software, then you get that SB that states the VEMD doesn't count cycles accurately and therefore you have to count them manually anyways...

 

I remember a few years ago, when I was working for a company out east (who shall remain nameless), the owner, who doesn't hold much respect for pilots in general, felt that we were all exaggerating our air time and cycle counts, so he had cycle counters installed in all of his Astars. After a year, he realized the opposite was true and had them all disabled...

 

I think this illustrates the true "accuracy" of cycle counting on Turbo Meca engines.

Get yourself an AKV cycle counter or similar, takes the guesswork out.

AKV doesn't seem to be as user friendly as AeroDyne I am use to the aerodyne system Any one with info on how it works can you PM me?
