worldywings
just a low time pilot looking for info. but a internet handle on a random forum doesn't back up the experience behind a response. you never know who's behind the name. That is the nature of this forum! Ask a question about a flight school and see what you get! LOL Anyhow...what couse are you talking about? The Pilot Ground & Flight Procedures course? Model Course Length Ground School Hours FTD Hours Flight Hours Tuition Flight Hour Cost 206B 5 days 20 2 3-5 ±‡ $9,785 Included Is a company sending you? Who is paying for it? Has a potential employer asked you to? My point was....if YOU are being asked to drop another 10 grand at 250 hours....I think not all that beneficial....which is what I assume the situation is. If someone is offereing to send you and foot the bill, why would you even need to ask? If you want good information, you need to give a few more details

Skidz
Amphib, In Canada, the biggest hurdle for operators to hire low time pilots is not insurance, but customer requirements. From the little that I know about insurance premiums here, unless you have a history of breaking things, lowtimers have little or no effect on them over all, unless of course, you're going to be the only pilot or one of 2 or 3 insured on a machine... lamanated
I was just at a factory, and one guy was there for the training as the insurance company won't insure him without it, but he was private and also had 15,000 hrs fixed time, but still needed it. but why not call an insurance company, they advertise in the magazine..
