I have been sitting in the bush for a month :down: and for the last five days I have been fogged in so I got to wondering... What is the longest you guys have sat in the bush due to WX or breakdown????

10 days once, for Hover Lover. That was due to wx.

I hope "the bush" really means a camp, I'd hate to think you're cozying up in the backseat for that long.

 

my longest was 8 days, a 4 day storm blew in from the west, cleared for a few hours, then the wind changed and the same storm blew for 4 more days in the other direction. Gotta love the arctic. It totally sucks when your tour is up at the beginning of the first 4 day storm.

At least you have access to the internet. When I was up there, there was no internet or satelite tv! Listening to that tent flapping in the wind gets boring real fast!

Hey Jetbox my engineer and I just sat in the pickup for 5 days on a seismic job in Ft Saskatchewan.I'm glad he's a friend or it might have been ugly.......I think there is more than a few crews sitting on the ground due to this extenive fog in Northern Alberta......

I once went for almost an entire 28 day tour in Cambridge Bay in winter without even seing the machine. But then two days before crew change I had to go flying and by that time, I had almost completly lost interest...

Live the dream baby, live the dream!! and my longest was 1 week. wait till the bugs come then it gets fun.

10 days, mins everyday, done by 8:30 am, (rest of the day all ours) temps 30C +/- a few, CAVU most of the time, all expenses and a car provided - BEST job ever!!!

2X 2 weeks waiting for parts and wx respectively. was waiting for parts in mexico hence the delay. not much to do for excitment except check the waybill number.

21 days sitting in Galena, AK in '98. No fires, crappy weather, going crazy, etc. The local bar "hobbo's" was a god-send, though. The bugs almost drove me crazy.
