What Went Wrong Here

Based on this video I'd rather roll down a hill in a Blackhawk then an A-star any day.

I'd agree with you on riding the roller in the blackhawk, it's shape tends to not shed alot of parts and is almost round and therefore gives you a good ride until the momentum relaxes :punk: . I was thinking a kmax would plant you like a tent peg even before you get to the first roll, so no fun there  . A 500 would just keep on going and going and going so that might make the ultimate thrill ride. B) Wonder what other helicopters would be good for rolling around in.

Don't limit yourself to not wanting to do it in a 350 though, the 407 itself doesn't look like it's gonna fare much better.

 I wonder how much one of these things brand new to buy is?

That can be tough to pin down exactly, but one source says, "the unit cost of the Army's UH-60L Black Hawk is $5.9 million while the unit cost of the Air Force MH-60G Pave Hawk is $10.2 million." Another source says, "Pave Hawks cost an estimated $15.8 million (U.S. dollars, 1998) each to construct.", while the Air Force HH-60G PAVE HAWK Fact Sheet says, "Unit Cost: $9.3 million (fiscal 98 constant dollars)"

You can see in the video that he moved from being on the top of the demarcation line of the air flow at the top of the ridge and into the downflow portion. He would have needed JATO to get that dog to climb. STAY IN THE GOOD AIR AND YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO TEST THE ROLL OVER ABILITY OF YOUR SHIP!!
