N1
Sad timing for this, a long way from home. I hope everything works out well. Anyone have any further information? Investigations underway into helicopter crash – Eugowra Thursday, 24 Dec 2009 05:02am A pilot is recovering in hospital after his helicopter crashed in dense bushland near Eugowra, in the state’s Central West. The chopper came down in the Nangar State Forest about 7.20pm yesterday (Wednesday 23 December). The male pilot, a 42-year-old Canadian National, was the only person onboard the helicopter when it ditched. He sustained suspected spinal injuries and had to be freed from the wreckage before being airlifted to Sydney’s Westmead Hospital for treatment. It’s believed he is in a stable condition. Police from Canobolas Local Area Command and National Parks and Wildlife officers have secured the crash site and investigators from the Australian Transportation Safety Bureau are expected to arrive on scene later today to commence their inquiries into the incident. Merry Christmas, TQN... thanks for the kind words. Helo wrecks are always kinda messy, so when the pilot or passengers are ok, its a good thing especially at Christmas.
