Narrative:
TSB REPORT#: A13C0048: The Helicopter Transport Services (Canada) Inc. Bell 212, registration C-GAHZ, was landing at the Fox-3 radar site (3 NW Dewar Lakes, NU), on a VFR flight from Hall Beach, NU (CYUX) with a pilot and four passengers on board. On landing, the helicopter encountered whiteout conditions, and after touchdown, the helicopter rolled over. Two of the three passengers suffered minor injuries. The pilot and other passengers were not injured. The helicopter was destroyed.

It breaks my heart every time I hear of a Bell medium being destroyed. They're eventually gonna run out of airframes, no ?

 

Nope... I don't think they'll ever not rebuild one unless the data plate is destroyed... I have seen them in a condition where I thought beer cans was the obvious next phase in the old girl's life and voila!! A year or two later she's back flying... It's utterly amazing that we have people in our industry that can get them back together like that... cheers to those who do that stuff!

P.S. Commercial 205, 212, etc, is what I'm referring to. 204's and military Hueys are not so desired anymore.
