Anyone know of layoffs at Blackcomb and West Coast Heli?

Yet I see Alpine just posted a position on Aero Ads for experienced mountain/longline pilots... with any luck those that got cut from Blackcomb or West Coast won't be out of work for long.

S'posed to be a hot one this week across BC - maybe we'll get a fire season after all.

Layoffs are always tough, but doing it in June is especially tough to hear. I thought BC would have had a good winter with the olympics and all. Thought they had deep pockets...guess the problem is they have short fingers

If you don't know what the term "cull" means in this industry or any other for that matter, then I suggest you go back to school. Then again, maybe you are still in school. it is amazing how little about the actual industry is explained to students. I still read/hear that most helicopter pilots are nearing retirement age and there will soon be a huge need for pilots. oh, and that the industry is booming.
