Missing Helicopter In Quebec

It just stuns me that, in this day of satellite tracking and 506 ELTs, a helicopter simply 'vanishes' and can't be found.

 

It just doesn't make any sense.

 

Unfortunately not everything is fool proof.

 

Hoping the best for the crew and their families.

I have had the great experience to work with the AME over the past couple of months, my heart weighs heavy for both there families and friends. There isn't a moment through the day that I don't worry about them. Hoping and praying for a positive outcome.

Did the same run over 20 years ago same time of year, from Chimo to Ivujivik. We tried to go straight Payne Bay to Wakem Bay but had to go along the coast; low clouds & fog. No GPS back then...

I don't know the crew, but this one was starting to eat at me, with the time it was taking for word. Sounds like the terrain/weather was difficult, but the longer it goes, the less likely the news was going to be good.

 

I didn't know the crew, but know others who do know them.
