DGP
You should come down to NB...on any given day you would swear you were flying around guadal canal during WW11....tora tora tora...very scary and very dangerous..these folks can barely speak english let alone...understand it
shakey
Beating a dead horse again. If you don't like it then write your MP or MLA. I don't particularly like it either but in an industry packed full of guys who just look out for themselves ( not all but most ) you will be hearing more and more of this. siyanara. oopsydaisy
Well here we are again, full circle and yet another angle and method to beat that poor old horse! I agree that it would be nice to fill more of the entry level positions with some young guys and gals from home, no brainer and I dont think anyone will argue that point. That being said if you think there are not alot of Canadian pilots/engineers working abroad than you are sorely mistaken. What a wonderful time and industry that allows us that opportunity! Quit pointing fingers and chastising that foreigner because he/she is sharing airspace with you! It would be a sad day to me if someone told me I wasnt allowed to travel and see the world on someone elses dime because of some hurt feelings. If you start closing the doors on these folks going on their adventure how long do you think it would be before the doors around the world would close on us? I have had the privelege to fly all over Canada, the Caribean and Australia and for the most part everyone has been most accomodating! Even one winter spent without dealing with covers and heaters is priceless!! and I would not trade that for anything. If borders were actually closed I would not have had the chance to make the best friendships of my life!! If you are qualified than why not? Sorry to rant on a Sunday, I just get tired of this topic!! Good Day all!! Oops
Bizzo
Just a little sensitive are we oopsydaisy, I believe Shifty even ended his post with "not looking to turn this into another foreign rant" Seems like your the one taking it in that direction. Stay Mellow Man or G'Day if you prefer

Ohh,snap the f@#$ out of it!Can you read that in a eastern european accent?I bet it would not bother you if you hear those accents @ 7 11 while buying Pringles. And yes ,I think you wanted to turn this into a foreign bash. Why not go to your local bingo hall if you want gossip?National Socialism is as dead as disco, dude ,and they probably would not let you join under a pseudonim anyways.I hate to sound like an election campaign advertisement but Canada is a country of equal opportunity so again, snap out of it.Many years ago I have talked to some canadian pilots on a seismic job in eastern europe (via sign language) and I have not questioned their linguistic abilities because they seemed to be able to buy beer as fast as any local pilot. And all canadian pilots that want to work are working or just about to get their first break into the industry if they really want to.Hats off for people that do not judge me by my accent because I could not and I would not change it annyway.I hope that life does not put you in the situation to chase roosters in a 22 in Ethiopia and have your abilities questioned because you speak zulu with an accent.
