Coolest Thing So Far This Year

I would not believe this without pictorial proof. One of our pilots flying in Peru was getting a seismic bag hooked up to him in the jungle... Suddenly he saw what appeared to be an arm reach out and grab the longline as he was departing... He thought perhaps it was a monkey, but that was waaay off the mark! Luckily there was a pad nearby and he was able to land and safely release a three-toe sloth back into the forest!

First thing I thought was that sloths are so slow (reportedly... I can't say I've ever raced one) I ownder how many bags an hour we're moving! Ha ha ha

I wonder what was going through his sloth brain... the first photo has a bit of a "what the heck just happened?" look in his eyes.

 

Maybe his sloth buddies dared him to grab the line ("Dude, you rock! High-three!!" )
