Personal Logbooks: Digital or Papercopy? What is everyone using now a days?

Just curious to hear what everyone has been using to keep a record of their airtime?  A papercopy log book or can someone recommend a digital version specifically for a helicopter?  Just looking at ideas.

Excel pilot logbook works ok as a digital logbook

I've gone back to paper, after losing 3 yrs. of digital entries to a software glitch. Which also rendered the backed up data useless. 
Older and wiser as they say. Your milage may very.

Ya that is something that I've questioned also; What if I loose everything and it's not recoverable...😬

Anyone else have any other input out there? Or would there be a cloud based option to prevent this?

I lost my paper logbooks in moving from Saskatchewan to Alberta. No way to recover the data contained as far as I know... 😵😢

There was the old flight xls, which I am sure wouldn't work on today's computer system but years ago someone was trying to upgrade it I thought but I cannot confirm that myself. I just have a spreadsheet on my computer that I use but I still fill out my paper one just incase I loose the digital. . .

Spreadsheet and once a year i grab a bottle of wine or three and fill in a paper book..

Foreflight has a pretty good digital logbook since recent updates. Cloud based too for data storage. That's IF you're paying for the subscription.

Digital backup in several places and paper books for when you've got free time. Email  yourself the file for easy access. 

Or, just stop recording altogether.

For myself, I use SmartLogbook on android. It lets me set my own custom limits, so I can at least get close to keeping tabs on Duty Time etc. Also good for filling out Forestry and other client Pilot forms, because you can filter your totals by a/c Manufacturer, Type, Model, etc. You can also create custom times, like if you want to track longline, heliski, mountain time, hover exits, wireline...
