Desperate Times?

I know desperate times call for desperate measures, but this one has me shaking my head. On the one hand, good for him/her for wanting it that bad...on the other I think it's a dangerous precedent and a slippery slope.

Not a road i would choose. You are going out make money for the company, and you are not wanting any return. crazy. everyone else in the company making money, but you.

 

On the other hand, i do know of a person that worked a year getting his 1st year ops/hanger work for free. next year got his ride. Doing well now.

 

Don't set the bar too low. i know it is tough out there. but you are worth something.

Lets open the can of worms shall we. Which affects you more, Canadian pilots who fly for free, or companies that hire foreign pilots and pay them to work?

I noticed he used the term CV, not the more typically Canadian term 'resume'.

 

What if he is a foreigner working for free ????????

 

Does he need a HRDC work permit to work for free ??

I see the usual outcry of disgust here, but it never ceases to amaze me how many employers will take advantage of just such an offer.... I've witnessed it more than a few times, and with some operators who's names would surprise a few people.
